The Infra-Red spectrum of the sample is
concordant with that of Guaifenesin RS.
The Principal spot in the chromatogram
obtained with the test solution is similar in
position, colour and size to the principal spot
in the chromatogram obtained with the
reference solution.
4APPEARANCE OF SOLUTONDissolve 1 g sample in carbon dioxide-free
water, heat gently if necessary and dilute to
50 ml with water, is solution S.
Solution S is clear and colourless.

NaOH is required or for 10 ml solution S,
