3	IDENTIFICATION A) UV B) IR	The ultraviolet absorption spectrum of 0.004% w/v solution exhibits the maxima at 272 nm about 0.48 using 1 cm cell. The Infra-Red spectrum of the sample is concordant with that of Guaifenesin Std.
4	ACIDITY, pH	Between 5.0 to 7.0 of 2.0% solution in water.
5	MELTING POINT	Between 80°C and 82°C.
6	CLARITY AND COLOUR OF SOLUTION	2% solution is clear and colorless.
